Getting Crafty with Chinese Take-away Box! 16 July 2015

I saw the photo of a "Chinese Take-away" box from a book called "Yum Yum Dim Sum". I thought it looks unique and special.
And I long to eat from this box. So far I have not seen any Chinese Restaurants in Malaysia that use this type of take-away box, shown at the picture below.

Yesterday, I was in the mood to do "origami". I opened one of my origami books and came upon this box instruction. I thought it looks exactly like the "Chinese Take-away" box that I like! It beckoned me to make it.

Ta-da ! My "Chinese Take-away" box.

I added a logo, a metal wire handle and some tape to make it stronger.

How to make the "Chinese Take-away" box:

You will need
1. Square Shape Paper
2. Tape
3.Your favorite Chinese Restaurant Logo Print-out.
4. Metal Wire
5. Paper puncture

Instructions :
1.Take the square shaped paper and follow the intructions in the picture

2. Tape any of the unstable parts

3. Stick your favorite Chinese Restaurant' Logo Print-out with tape on the front of the box.

4. Puncture both top side of the box to make a hole for the metal wire - handle. d

5. Slot the end of a metal wire at both side of the box as a handle. Make a knot to secure it.

5. You are finished with your "ChineseTake-away" Box!!!

Buka Puasa Buffet, Rajawali Coffee House, Awana Genting Hotel 27 June 2015

I had the best dining eperience at Rajawali Coffee House, comprises of  yummy-licious food, various, various, various choices and lively ambience.
I think it is a good combination for people who loves a hotel stay plus a great "buka puasa" buffet during the Ramadhan month.
Come have a look at some of the food choices. I am a vegetarian and so, I have asked my mom's help to describe her opinion on the food below.  She said "She was spoilt for choices and she was very happy with the food"
The group of singer and musician who entertained the diners. When they belted out "Hijau" by Zainal Abidin, mom was all ears ! That is her favourite piece of Malay song.

Assam Laksa.
One can concoct her own bowl of assam laksa with the amount of ingredient to one's liking.

I had a hard time picking the many, many choices of "kuih muih". I wish to eat them all but there are just seriously too many choices. Here is my selection. Most of them are sweetly delicious.

Chicken "Murtabak" and "Utta Apam" with curry and dhall.
Mom just gave me a thumb up with a grin, when I asked her how it was.

My vegetarian choice.
Mushroom soup, bun and butter, buttered fusilli and mixed vegetables.

I was fascinated by how the chefs could cut such beautiful designs on the watermelons. Among all the fruits that are available, I like the taste of the superb lychee the best.

This was what remained of the whole lamb, half way through the buffet. It must be delicious.

Meat ingredients with the bone soup.

Mommy said the sauces are amazing and compliment her rice and fish well.

"Kebab" was being served in sandwiches.

Healthy raw salad and ulam ulam with a few type of dressing.

Food on sticks - the "lok lok" style ( to deep it in the hot water)

Nasi Kerabu - the famous Kelantan and Trengganu dish of blue rice served with herbs and meats.

"Goreng" (fried) stuffs.

Barbeque "ikan kembong " and crab.

A selection of bread with butter.
I enjoyed every bite although it was not warm enough.

Make your own "ais kacang".

I didn't manage to try any of the ice cream flavour due to the cough I was having. :(

I saw many diners took these cold prawn and crab.

Free flow of hot and cold beverages.

And many more!
